Texas Plastic Lumber was created to help customers make informed, long-term material decisions when traditional building materials no longer make sense.
For many years, plastic lumber was manufactured primarily for—and used extensively by—government agencies, municipalities and public projects. Many other industries had limited access to the material or little information about where and how it could be used.
We believe plastic lumber deserves a place in a much broader range of markets. Commercial businesses, original equipment manufacturers, agricultural operations, marine contractors, property owners and specialty builders can all benefit when the material is properly matched to the application.
Plastic lumber is not one product, and it is not the right answer for every project. Structural and non-structural formulations perform differently, and available profiles, actual dimensions, lengths, colors and manufacturing capabilities vary considerably. Our role is to understand the application first and then help identify the most appropriate material and manufacturer.
We work with multiple manufacturers because no single manufacturer offers the best solution for every project. That allows us to focus on what the application requires rather than forcing every customer into the same product.
We also believe customers deserve honest information about both the advantages and limitations of plastic lumber. When it is a good fit, we will explain why. When another material or a qualified engineering evaluation is needed, we will tell you that too.
Our goal is simple: make plastic lumber easier to understand, easier to obtain and more successful in the industries and applications where it can provide lasting value.
